Engineer Team

Overview

The Engineer team is a staff-only part of the Game Design department. The team is responsible for designing the spells and mobs for the server, mainly config-based tech work. These spells and mobs are used throughout the server in quests, dungeons, events, classes, minigames, and more. They work with two plugins to develop the mobs and spells on the server: Magic plugin by NathanWolf and Mythic Mobs by Xikage.


Requirements
  • Must be willing to sign an NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement).
  • Must be able to work independently and collectively.
  • Must have use of your own personal Gmail account.
  • Being able to use Discord with a microphone and being comfortable speaking to others is recommended.
  • Having a clean record on Potterworld is recommended, but not required.
  • If you’re a staff member, you must have permission to apply from the Head of your Primary Department.
  • Must have a working knowledge of the player level systems, spells, and experience fighting a majority of the monsters in our world.

Rank Descriptions

Engineer Intern

An entry role to the Engineer team with a focus on learning and training. This staff position will work with magic and mobs. They primarily help with small requests and assignments.


Jr. Engineer

Inherits the responsibilities of Engineer Intern while also having further seniority in the team and a stronger knowledge of the plugins. They handle more complex requests.


Engineer

Inherits the responsibilities of Jr. Engineer. They take on additional responsibilities, manage higher complexity requests, and guide Engineer Interns and Jr. Engineers.


Sr. Engineer

Inherits the responsibilities of an Engineer. They lead major projects, have additional role responsibilities, and have higher permissions. 


Lead Engineer

A role within the leadership team. They focus on leading the team and checking in on progress.
