Potterworld's 5th Anniversary 2019

Overview

Potterworld’s 5th Anniversary began on May 18th and ended on July 8th, 2019. This event featured 7 different themes, from Valentine's to the Fifth Battle of Potterworld, throughout the event. Along with different themes, different contests, challenges, and minigames were released for players to participate in.

Storyline

As Potterworld celebrated its fifth anniversary, players were able to see 7 different events from the past. The events were Valentine's, Butterbrew Festival, Halloween, Magical Maze, Christmas, Fine Arts Fair, and the Fifth Battle of Potterworld. Each changed every week. Every individual event had players completing challenges to receive special rewards.

Location

The main location for this specific event was the Great Hall Courtyard, which was decorated with a giant cake and stands surrounding it. Each week’s theme included a special location. These locations were from the past events’ builds. For example, the theme of Valentines used the 2016 and 2017 Valentine's event build. The Butterbrew used the 2018 event build, while the Christmas used builds for Beauxbois and Dormunstrad.

Activities

There were 15 single-player minigames, 3 multiplayer minigames, 3 challenges, and various daily task board activities that players could complete during this event. The minigames and challenges were only released in correlation to the event theme that week. The task board was primarily used for the Christmas theme. This year featured the Magical Maze as well, which was only available from June 8th to June 14th.

Flake in the Blizzard	Complete the Flake in the Blizzard dropper 10 times.
Down the Stairwell	Complete the Down the Stairwell dropper 10 times.
Expert Snowballer	Defeat 100 opponents in Snowballing.
Fast and Furious	Win 1 game of Sledding.
They All Fall Down	Win 1 game of Wand Spleef.
Drooblebuster	Complete all Anniversary Christmas tasks to unlock this bonus reward!

Magical Maze

During this year’s Magical Maze, players needed to find 4 sphinxes and answer their riddles. Once all of the riddles were answered, players needed to find the cup at the centre of the maze to receive their reward. Additionally, there were 50 Academic Credits locations which rewarded players with 10 Academic Credits each.

Contests

Housing Competition

On May 18th, 2019, there was a housing competition released. The theme for this competition was Festivals. It could range from a festival in real life to one on Potterworld. The deadline for the competition was June 20th, and the winners were announced on June 23rd.

Writing Competition

The writing competition was released on May 18th as well. This competition’s theme was a favourite memory of Potterworld. The maximum amount of writing to be submitted was one full book and quill. The due date was June 16th, and the winners were announced on June 23rd.

Skin Competition

This year’s skin competition was displayed at the Fine Art’s Fair. The specific theme for the skins was Potterworld. All skins were due by June 23rd at 12 PM PST. The winners were announced later that day.

Rewards & Collectables

Players could purchase rewards from various NPCs throughout the duration of the event. These rewards cost players Gold and different event currencies like Boo Bucks or Snowflakes. The table below shows all of the rewards players could receive from the event.
