Overview
The player goes to the Phoenix base and meets Rena Ardere, the leader of the camp. She is suspicious of the player and mentions that recently the dark followers snuck into their camp and stole a very valuable herb. She is aware that they did so for good reason… However, the Phoenixes had their own good reason for needing the Nocen’s Bliss, as one of their members has a very dangerous curse. Help Rena find more Nocen’s Bliss so the Phoenixes can once again live in harmony!
Quest Progression
To begin the quest, speak to Rena in the Phoenix Camp within the Deep Forest.
Dialogue -
- [1/4] H-Hello. My dad told me you were the one that got the unicorn blood for me. Thank you for saving me.
- [2/4] I'm not... myself anymore though. Those that drink unicorn blood are cursed to live only a half-life and I can feel myself growing weaker again.
- [3/4] I just want to be healthy again. I think there might be a way for me to remove this curse. I hear my father speaking to the rest about it in hushed voices.
- [4/4] They're definitely planning something, but they won't tell me what. Please, I need to know. Do you think you could snoop around in the Storage Tent and look for any clues or anything out of the ordinary for me?
Objective 1 - Speak to Akeros
Description -
Locate Akeros the Centaur in the Deep Forest and speak to him about where to find more Nocen's Bliss. You can find him by following the south path outside the Phoenix Camp, and he'll be near the other Centaurs.
Objective 2 - Locate the Nocen's Bliss
Description -
"If you seek to evade the grave, within the deep forest lies a hidden glade. Ensure to tread carefully or you may receive a bite quite harsh as it’s defended by the creatures that lurk in the marsh."
Solve Akeros's Riddle and locate the Nocen's Bliss.
Dialogue -
- [1/7] Ah... so you've been prying into Dark Follower business. Though, I suppose I do owe you a favor after you saved my daughter's life.
- [2/7] The reason we are in the Deep Forest is because it is rich with powerful creatures and magical herbs. One of those herbs though is much more valuable than the rest.
- [3/7] Nocen's Bliss is a magical herb that can cure any injury, illness, or curse. Of course I'm willing to go to whatever length to get some for my daughter... and my soldiers.
- [4/7] We've only just received intel that the Phoenixes have located the Nocen's Bliss and have some stored in their camp. We're planning to invade and take it for ourselves.
- [5/7] But, I think I just thought of a better idea. What if a simple Hogsworth student not affiliated with our past crimes were the one to retrieve it? You would be less conspicuous and could claim innocence if caught!
- [6/7] Us Dark Followers use a special form of magic that allows us to fly without brooms. I can assist you with this to get to the Phoenix Camp. We have also planted a Warpkey that you can use to return here once you have the herb.
- [7/7] Your mission is to get in, retrieve [1 Nocen's Bliss], and get out. Are you ready to begin flying?
Objective 3 - Cure Ayla of her Blood Curse
Description -
Locate the cave Ayla is hiding out in northwest of the Phoenix Camp near the manticores, then battle her down until she is calm enough for you to use [1 Nocen's Bliss] to cure her of her blood curse.
Dialogue -
- [1/2] Oh wow, this is what my father has been after this whole time?! I didn't imagine there would be a cure this perfect!
- [2/2] Thank you so much for helping me get rid of my curse.
Tips
- The flying course may look difficult, but it is easier than it seems! Do your best to not fly into a wall, as you will lose your momentum.
- Curse Breaker is part of a quest line! You can not start this quest until you complete Any Means Necessary.
