Fall Feast 2018

Overview

The Thanksgiving event of 2018 began on November 22nd and was available for a very limited time before the upcoming events in December. During this event, only a few collectables were released, and a sale was held during the Black Friday weekend.

Storyline

The house-elves at Hogsworth fell sick, leaving behind a lengthy list of things to do in the process. With the help of the players, Droobledore planned to save the feast for all of the students, but it took some hard work. After all, Hogsworth simply is not the same without its hard-working house-elves!

Location

The entirety of the Fall Feast event took place within the grounds of Hogsworth. 

Just outside, in the Great Hall Courtyard, tables were spread out so that there was enough room for all of the students to enjoy the tons of mashed potatoes, bread rolls, turkey, and stuffing that would be provided on Thanksgiving day by all of the hard-working Hogsworth house-elves. In the centre, a gigantic turkey sat roasting for the duration of the event, flanked by an equally large pumpkin pie and cornucopia. On either side of the courtyard, decorative trees with leaves in shades of yellow, orange, and red stood staunchly.

Within the halls themselves, brown, white, and orange banners and rugs were hung and strewn about to signify the holidays, and food littered the tables so thickly that very little could be seen of the actual wood beneath. 

The quest itself took place in the kitchens, which were not decorated for the event, as the house-elves were far too sick to spruce up their own quarters, let alone their workspace.

Quests

A Time to be Thankful

A student standing outside the Great Hall informed the players that Droobledore, the Headmaster himself, had requested them in the kitchens. After travelling down to meet him, players were informed of the illness that had befallen the house elves, without whom the Fall Feast would be nearly impossible to pull off. If they were to have any chance, they would need the house elves’ to-do list.

After they have collected it, they learn that they must help finish the meal preparations- a task not so easily completed when the cauldrons themselves are testing you on your food knowledge, and the recipe is nearly impossible to read. Once the Thanksgiving Pie was finished, they were tasked with creating the ‘special item’ that would normally be handed out during events, which would usually be made by the House Elves. With merely red dye and wool, players created their own Thanksgiving Scarves! With that, the quest was complete.
