Overview
Getting Geared Up is the fifth quest in the First Year Experience, focused on teaching players more about gear and how it is used.
Quest Progression
In order to start the quest, the player must talk to Jeremiah outside of the Room of Training.
Dialogue
- [1/6] Thanks again for helping me out in the Charms lesson [player's username]! That was a fun lesson, I hope I will remember the incantation!
- [2/6] We've done a lot together so far, I wanted to bring you here to introduce you to something important in your wizarding journey - the way to improve your stats and improve your magical power: gear!
- [3/6] My sister was a prefect in her fifth year. She has learned so much and taught me all about how gear works! You have been such a great classmate that I want to share that information with you!
- [4/6] Gear is magical apparel you wear that gives you different stats that affect you and your spells, such as your health points, your damage, and your defense to name a few!
- [5/6] Instead of me rambling on, shall we go ahead and test gear out ourselves so you can experience it first hand?
- [6/6] The Room of Training is the perfect place! Come on in! Just tap the wall behind me and it'll open up magically!
Objective 1 - Enter the Room of Training
Description
Tap the block on the wall surrounded by purple particles in order to enter the Room of Training.
Objective 2 - Talk to Jeremiah
Description
Talk to Jeremiah in the Room of Training and listen to his explanation.
Dialogue
- [1/1] Here you are! Let's get started then. Let me give you some more information before we begin.
- [2/5] Gear is a key component to becoming more powerful and increasing your health, damage, and making your spells more potent.
- [3/5] You have 6 gear slots: Helmet, Body, Leggings, Boots, Hand, and Trinket!
- [4/5] As Madam Mym had told you before you arrived at Hogsworth, you open your gear menu by doing /gear in chat. You can then click and drag your gear pieces into the open slots to equip them!
- [5/5] With that out of the way, we can get started!
Objective 3 - Cast Vermillio on Dummy
Description
Cast Vermillio on the Dummy to test the amount of damage done without the use of gear.
Dialogue
- [1/3] Perfect! Here we have a Dummy that a Prefect conjured up for us to test our spells on. Don't be alarmed, he won't harm us!
- [2/3] I'll let you cast on it with your current gear, and then I'll give you a gear piece so you really see the difference it makes!
- [3/3] Try casting Vermillio at it and notice the damage you do! Afterwards, talk to me again to continue.
Objective 4 - Talk to Jeremiah
Description
See what Jeremiah has to say after casting the spell on the Dummy.
Dialogue
- [1/1] Not bad! You did (number) damage to it. Now, try equipping this [1 Student Mitts] and cast again at the Dummy. Notice the damage magically increase!
Objective 5 - Cast Vermillio on Dummy
Description
Cast Vermillio on the Dummy to test the amount of damage done with the Student Mitts.
Objective 6 - Talk to Jeremiah
Description
Listen to what Jeremiah has to say.
Dialogue
- [1/6] Whoa, you did (number) damage this time! Nice work, [player's username]! The difference gear can make is crazy - that's why it's so important to keep your gear up to date as you level up!
- [2/6] Gear affects your health points, your regeneration, the damage you do, your spells' cooldown, their range, and much more!
- [3/6] You can get your hands on gear by killing mobs and creatures, finding them in Hidden Chests all around the world, or even buying it from other players in the Marketplace!
- [4/6] By the way, you're free to keep that [1 Student Mitts] I gave you, consider it a gift from me.
- [5/6] Anyhow, now you know all about gear! Thank you for coming along with me here. You're free to come back at any time and test out your spells, the Room of Training will always be open!
- [6/6] Go on and exit the Room of Training through the door you entered. You can then look at your [Class Schedule] to figure out what lesson to go to next!
Tips
- Players can teleport to the starting point of the quest by using the Class Schedule obtained in First Year Struggles.
