Overview

The Marketplace is a quick way to access and buy items from other players, as it compiles items found in every player shop throughout Potterworld. Though the central Marketplace is located in Vertick Alley, there are also Travelling Marketplaces that are accessible throughout the world. Also found in the Marketplace and located near every Travelling Marketplace, there is a Quick Buy NPC that allows players to buy items with ease. When using the Quick Buy NPC, a GUI pops up for the player that shows every item that the player currently has in their inventory, along with the price of the item in player shops. In the Vertick Alley Marketplace, there is also a Shop Manager NPC that is accessible. This NPC shows the same GUI that pops up when players do /shop in-game.

Purchasing Items

When wanting to purchase an item from the Marketplace, they can do so from any Marketplace NPC throughout the world. To purchase one of the desired item, players can left-click on the item in the GUI, which will take them to a confirmation GUI that allows the player to double-check their purchase. Right-clicking the item will allow the player to buy multiple of that item by allowing them to type how much of the item they want into chat. When buying items from the Marketplace, the shopper will always be buying the lowest possible price available throughout every player shop. However, when buying multiple of the same item, it is possible that not every item will cost the same, since one shop may only have a limited amount and the next lowest price is higher. In order to learn more about an item in the Marketplace, players can hover over the item. This will show the name of the item, the lore of the item, along with some statistics on the item. These statistics include the Minimum Price, Average Price, Sellers, and Stock. The Minimum Price is the lowest price that the item is selling for throughout the entire Marketplace. The Average Price is the average amount that other players are asking for the item. The Sellers statistic shows how many different players currently have the item in their player shops. The Stock statistic shows how many of the item are being sold throughout every player shop. Players can also sort the Marketplace in a variety of ways to make it easier to find the item they are looking for. By default, every category is sorted by the name of the item, but players can drop-click the compass to sort the category by the price. Shift-clicking the compass reverses the order and toggles between the default and reverse order. To make sure that the player is fully aware where their items are coming from and how much it will cost, they can look at their Basket in the confirmation GUI. Their Basket shows them what item they are purchasing, the overall price of the purchase, how much they are purchasing, and how many items they are buying from each shop, along with the price per shop.

Categories

In order to make shopping easier, there are multiple different categories and subcategories that items are placed into. These categories include:

Building Blocks

This category contains the majority of blocks that are used to build at player housings and, within it, there are eight different subcategories: Clay Blocks, Doors and Fences, Decoration Blocks, Stone Blocks, Tools, Wool Blocks, Wood Blocks, and Glass Blocks.

Collectables

The Collectables category contains anything that would be considered a rare, limited, or scarce item. The subcategories found within the Collectables category are Choco Hop Cards, Scarves, Banners, and Miscellaneous. The Miscellaneous subcategory contains any item that does not fit into the other three subcategories including but not limited to, Event, CE, and Roleplay items.

Materials

This category allows players to buy materials obtained from slaying mobs throughout the world, with the materials broken up by level. Players are also able to buy outdated gear materials that were previously obtainable. There is no purpose for these materials since the 1.3.0 Gameplay Update removed gear crafting, however, these materials can still currently be traded for Gold at a Shady Dealer or Vendor.

Professions

This category is broken up into three subcategories; Potions, Herbology, and Cooking, with each one containing items from its specified profession. The only items found in this category will be able to be crafted or obtained through professions.

Food

This category contains non-Profession foods. While players no longer have to be mindful of their hunger while playing, some food can be considered a rare or collectable item. The majority of the items found in this category can no longer be obtained.

Gear Recipes

The Gear Recipes category contains outdated recipes that were previously used to craft gear. They are still able to be purchased, but once obtained, they will turn into the equivalent gear piece.

Travel

This category focuses on any item that can be used to travel or used to craft brooms. Various broom parts and recipes can be purchased here, along with ready-to-use brooms, including older souvenir brooms. Players are also able to purchase Fire Dust through this category.

Gear Items

The Gear Items category allows players to pursue gear pieces by gear slot and purchase them. When hovering over the item in the GUI, players can see the stats of the piece along with its level.

Travelling Marketplace

The Travelling Marketplace is located in various towns throughout the world map and allows players to access the Marketplace without having to go to Vertick Alley. Every Travelling Marketplace will have the Marketplace NPC, along with a Quick Buy NPC located nearby.
