May the Fourth 2023

Overview

This year, Batuu was once again welcoming visitors. It featured a few new locations and favoured characters. Players enjoyed replaying classic content, along with several new quests and activities making their debut in the galaxy. The event lasted from the May 4th to June 1st, 2023.

Storyline

There was no specific overarching storyline for this event.

Location

Players boarded the Centennial Hawk from the boathouse at Hogsworth and jumped into hyperspace to venture to the planet Batuu. Players also ventured to other planets for exploration, quests and activities such as Ilum, Nevarro, Tatooine, Naboo and Earth.

Quests

This event featured four exciting main quests. Upon completion of the quest, players would receive Star Tokens, Beskar which were used to purchase collectables from the marketplace or forge, and experience for levelling.

To Hyperspace and Beyond

Kevin the Hutt had lost his token pouch somewhere while travelling from Batuu to Hogsworth as an ambassador for the event. Suspecting that he had dropped it in Batuu, he enlisted players' help to look for his lost pouch. Players climbed aboard the Centennial Hawk, jumped into hyperspace to reach the planet Batuu, and searched for the lost pouch.

Rogue Jeden

The Rebel leader, Rieva Pavan was having trouble looking for a wanted fugitive. Players helped Rieva locate and bring Evan Brigson into custody by tracking him down.

Till the Spire

Doma Vane was on a mission to locate the Rebel Hideout and evade the Empire's surveillance on Batuu. Players teamed up with her and Gar Cardar on an interstellar journey filled with perilous foes, new allies, and the thrill of a mysterious pod race.

Always a Bigger Fish

The Gungans on Naboo urgently needed players' help as their city was under attack. Players had to find Thi-Thi Yuzburr, the Gungan spokesperson, in Galaxy's Edge to devise a plan to restore peace and drive out the attackers.

Side Quests

This event had three daily repeatable side quests which can be completed once every twelve hours. Upon completing the side quests, players would receive Star Tokens, Beskar, as well as experience.

Babysitting Barthans

This side quest was a dream job for creature lovers. Players helped take care of the two Banthas in their barns by filling up their food troughs with food from the marketplace, cleaning, and watering them.

Oga’s Cantina

Players received hands-on experience on this side quest as they tried to brew one of the many items from the cantina’s popular drinks menu. The ingredients needed were gathered from the marketplace or around Batuu and brewed in the cantina’s kitchen.

Galactic Starcruiser

This cruise on the famous Galactic Starcruiser is a top-rated destination for a relaxing vacation in Batuu. Players boarded the ship to find a range of storylines unlocked. Each trip brought surprising adventures by the choice of activity or people that were engaged with during the cruise.

Activities

Throughout the event, there were four special activities that were completed progressively. These activities offered exclusive prizes and collectables that were only available through completion. In addition to those four activities, the two Star Battle minigames and Star Racing could be accessed through /games, while the rest of the minigames could be accessed through the Games Master NPC at the Galactic Brink on Batuu. Completing these minigames rewarded players with Star Tokens and Beskar, exclusive currencies for the May the Fourth events, which could be used to purchase collectables or Plasma Blade components

Mandalorian Forge

The forge which is situated on Nevarro, offered robust armour and weapons that could be acquired by trading in Beskar. Players could earn Beskar by completing event quests, side quests and participating in event minigames.

Droid Crafting/Build-A-Droid

Once players acquired a one-time purchasable Droid Pet ticket from the Pet NPC in the Black Spire Marketplace, they could proceed to the Build-A-Droid Mart. Here in the marketplace, they chose the type of droid they wished to build and completed a series of sequences to craft their desired droid.

Advanced Smugglers Kit: Unlocking Speeders

Upon finishing the "Till The Spire" quest, players gained access to use the Advanced Smugglers Kit at various node points scattered across the galaxy. Successfully performing "hacking," "scanning," "tuning," and "translating" actions at these nodes allowed players to randomly unlock either an item or a conversation. Once all 30 items and 30 conversations are unlocked, players could redeem a Toy Speeder Bike from the Collectable NPC at the Black Spire Marketplace.

Ahsoka’s Trials

Ahsoka Tano, a former Jeden, had a challenge for players. Upon successfully completing this series of trials, players were rewarded with a White Kyber Crystal. This crystal was used to craft the legendary White Saber.

Star Battle: Domination

Players are randomly placed into either the Imperials or Rebels team. There are three bases that can be captured which will gain points for their team when captured. Players must work with their teammates to capture and defend the captured bases by killing their opponents. At the end of the time limit, the team with the most points wins the game.

Star Battle: Escort Payload

Players are assigned randomly to either the Imperial or Rebel team. The Rebels aim to escort a payload through a three-part course and reach the end before the game concludes. Meanwhile, the Imperials strive to disrupt the Rebels' progress. Both sides contribute to their objectives by eliminating opposing team members. If the Rebels successfully complete their objective, they win. Otherwise, the Imperials will emerge victorious at the end of the time.

Star Racing

In Star Racing, players navigate Speeder Bikes through a course as swiftly as possible, avoiding obstacles to stay on track. Along the course, checkpoints provide random items like the “C4 Bomb” or the “Thermal Grenade”. These items can be strategically used against opponents to hinder their progress or create distractions. The fastest player who crosses the finish line will be the winner of the race.

Contests

During this event, three tournaments were held by the Arena Team, each featuring Escort Payload, Domination, and Star Racing. The tournament featured three distinct leaderboards, each dedicated to a different game mode. Players accumulated points by winning rounds in Escort Payload and Domination, or Star Racing. Additional bonus points were awarded for kills achieved in Escort Payload and Domination. At the end of the May the Fourth event, the top five players on each leaderboard received a reward.

Players could craft Lightsaber collectables by assembling two key components: one Lightsaber Hilt and one piece of Kryalite. Hilts were forged in Cerela Juda’s Workshop using various components purchased using Star Tokens. Kryalite was obtainable through mining in the Ilum caves. Once players acquired the appropriate hilt and the corresponding colored Kryalite, they could fuse these components together via a Lightsaber crafting sequence to create a Lightsaber.
