Valentine's Day In the Underland 2020

Overview

For the Valentine’s Day in Underland 2020 event, which lasted from February 1st to February 24th, 2020, players were able to traverse around the world of Underland and help its citizens defeat the notorious Queen of Hearts. Additionally, exclusive rewards were available for purchase and other new gameplay features were enabled. This event also included the release of a new cosmetic hat and a new seasonal store item.

Storyline

In 2020, Valentine's Day was being celebrated once again in Underland. The Queen of Hearts had outlawed Valentine's Day once more and the citizens of Underland needed players’ help to defeat her powerful magic. By helping nine citizens around town via cooking and brewing, players were provided with special items. Each item could then be used to craft a Love Staff at the Blacksmith near the castle. Once crafted, players then approached the Queen of Hearts in her castle and challenged her to a duel.

Location

The main event hub was Underland. To get there, players had to drop down into a rabbit hole. This was located underneath a tree in the Great Hall Courtyard, which was just outside the castle walls. From there, players jumped down out of the sky into Underland where they explored the town with its restaurant, pub, and residences, along with the Queen of Heart’s castle and surrounding forestry.

Quests

There was no official quest made available to players via the quest book. Instead, players were introduced to the world by talking to a Kevin NPC. They then had to take the initiative and help nine citizens of Underland. By collecting local mob drops and growing Herbology plants from purchased seeds at the Seed Shop, players were then able to cook food at the restaurant or brew potions at The White Rabbit Pub. These items included: a Mysterious ‘Drink Me’ Bottle, an Undying Love Potion, a March Hare’s Punch, a Mock Turtle Brew, a Beautiful Soup, a Stolen Tart, a Tweedledee Toffee, and a Tweedledum Choco.

Specific combinations of food and potion items were to be traded to a citizen in exchange for a unique staff component. By collecting all nine components, players were able to craft a Love Staff with the Blacksmith’s assistance.

After crafting the Love Staff, players were able to talk to the Queen of Hearts at her throne within the castle and duel her. Upon defeating the Queen of Hearts, the Heartstorm Spell from previous Valentine’s Day events was unlocked for redeeming at the Rewards NPC.

Side Quests

There were no side quests in the event.

Activities

Cupid Hearts

Scattered throughout Underland were purple Cupid Heart nodes. With all 100 Cupid Hearts found, players traded them to the local Cupid NPC and redeemed a Cupid’s Bow replica collectable.

Minigames

There were five seasonal minigames made available for the event. Except for the Amor Vita Parkour, which rewarded the Amor Vita Spell from previous Valentine’s Day events, each gave the player additional Event Tokens upon its completion.

Contests

There was one accompanying contest that was hosted alongside the event. On February 14th, 2020, the Valentine's Day photo competition was announced. This required contestants to submit a photo with the theme of love. The two winners, one chosen by judges and the other by the Potterworld community, were announced on February 25th, 2020.

Rewards & Collectables

There were a variety of different event items that players were able to obtain throughout Valentine’s Day in the Underland 2020 event.

By talking to the Rewards NPC at a stall in town, players could purchase Heads, Hats, a Scarf, Emote Package, a Pet, a Banner, and other collectables with Event Tokens. These tokens were earned by participating in /games or the seasonal minigames and exchanging cooked/brewed items for Event Tokens. Some collectables could also be collected after completing certain tasks.
