Overview

Brooms are one of the most well-known forms of transportation on Potterworld. With a broom, you can fly around the map from place to place. This is definitely a more scenic way of travelling than the other options available.

In order to fly a broom, you first must be holding it in your hand. Then, when you right-click, you will begin to fly! However, you cannot fly if there are any blocks above your head. To move around, you can simply press W to move forward. Pressing A will move you to the left, and pressing D will move you to the right. You must still be pressing your W key in order for A or D to work. Pressing your S key will halt any movement. Press the space bar to ascend higher into the air. If you would like to hop off of your broom, simply press your shift key.

Brooms can be extremely vital when traveling. Unlike Fire Dust, you only need to purchase your broom once for unlimited uses. You can also get brooms that go at different speeds. This can make for quick and scenic travel when exploring or trying to find a destination for a quest.

Not a fan of how your broom looks? You can purchase a broom appearance from the store. Type /buy or /store in-game to get a link to the store! Broom appearances vary from a Ford Angela, a flying chair, a Thestry, or even a magic carpet!

Obtaining Brooms

Pre-Revelius Brooms

Have a broom from before the release of Revelius? No worries! You can exchange it for an updated broom in /me. It is in the bottom right-hand corner labelled “Broom Exchange”.

Crafting a Broom

Currently to obtain a broom, you first must collect the needed materials and the recipe for the broom you would like to craft. You can obtain the materials and recipes from killing mobs in the wilderness, discovering hidden chests around the map, purchasing them from the marketplace, or trading with other players. The better and faster the broom, the higher tier it is. Recipes for higher-tiered brooms are also a lot rarer to obtain. While all levels of mobs have the chance of dropping every type of broom recipe, the higher the level, the higher the chance it will drop a top-tier recipe.

Once you have collected the appropriate materials and recipe, you must travel to the Broom Vendor in order to craft the broom. You can find the NPC located at the Broomsmiths in Diagonal Lane, London. You will then pay a fee, as well as use the materials and recipe collected, to craft the broom!

Crafting brooms can be expensive. If you would like to learn more about how to earn gold so you can purchase a top-tier broom, you can find the link to the Gold page here!

Broomsmith Break-In

After completing the third year quest “Broomsmith Break-In”, you will earn your own Briskbranch broom! This is a good starter broom, especially at your lower years. You can also use this broom to level up to the broom of the next tier when you have all other required materials!

History

In the first version of brooms on Potterworld, brooms were very different compared to the system we use today. The names of brooms many years ago used to be the canon terms from Harry Potter. The mechanics had also worked differently. Rather than the A and D keys moving you, they would instead rotate the direction you were looking in. There were also brooms you could purchase that had temporary uses!
