Moderation Team

Overview

The Prefect team moderates the server in-game, whilst Discord Moderators focus on the Potterworld Discord server and Wizencouncil moderate the forums. Jr. Prefects are responsible for helping players in chat and through our in-game ticket system, along with assisting Prefects+ with moderating chat and professionally dealing with rule-breaking.

Requirements

• You must be able to use Discord with a microphone and be comfortable speaking to others.
• Must have use of your own personal gmail account.
• You must be in level 61 or above on the server.
• Having a clean record on Potterworld is recommended, but not required.
• You must be at least 15 years old.

Responsibilities

• Assisting players through the ticket system and in-game chat.
• Moderating chat and dealing with rule-breaking.
• Actively engaging in the Potterworld community.

Rank Descriptions

Jr. Prefect

Jr. Prefects are responsible for helping players in chat and through our in-game ticket system, along with assisting Prefects+ with moderating chat and professionally dealing with rule-breaking. They often represent the face of the server, as they will normally be the first staff member a player interacts with when asking for assistance. Jr. Prefects can also assist other staff members when needed.

Prefect

Prefects inherit the responsibilities held by Jr. Prefects and additionally gain more permissions to enhance their ability to moderate and handle a larger amount of situations. They also gain the ability to serve as a mentor to lower ranks. Prefects are largely responsible for handing out punishments and enforcing the server rules.

Sr. Prefect

Sr. Prefects share the same responsibilities as Prefects but also gain an increased range of permissions to handle more issues. Additionally, with their seniority comes the responsibility of setting a standard for the rest of the team. Sr. Prefects also help the Community Management Leadership team manage ban appeals.

Lead Prefect

Lead Prefects assist the head of the department in managing the team. With the rank comes the responsibilities of Sr. Prefect and more permissions to handle higher situations. Lead Prefects make the majority of calls and decisions related to the Moderation team and serve as a point of contact for other Moderation members to express concerns or questions.

Side Ranks

The following ranks are moderation positions that are currently only available for existing staff members to apply for.

Wizencouncil

Members of Wizencouncil manage the website forums and answer questions found there. They moderate the forums to ensure no rules are broken and are also responsible for handling support tickets through the website

Requirements

• You must have been in your current position for at least 1 month.
• You must be active on the website and on the forums, as well as understand the rules for the forums.
• You need to have good grammar and be able to explain things easily to players.
• You need to be able to meet the 5 hour in-game requirement as set by Moderation.

Discord Moderator

Discord Moderators are in charge of enforcing rules and moderating Discord channel chats and voice calls. Discord Moderators issue warnings and punishments to players who break any Discord rules, and can assist players having technical issues related to the Discord server such as missing roles.

Requirements

• You must have been a staff member for at least 3 months.
• You must be active on the Discord, as well as understand the rules for it.
• You should feel confident using bots to warn and punish players.
• You need to be able to meet the 5 hour in-game requirement as set by Moderation.

Staff Training Crew

Members of the Staff Training Crew are in charge of holding staff training sessions. In these sessions they work to ensure consistency in protocol and that professionalism is maintained. They are also responsible for providing feedback to other staff members and addressing any concerns or questions they may have about our protocols or situations.

This position has no application. It is offered to Moderation members who reach the rank of Sr. Prefect or higher.
