Birthday Event 2018

Overview

For the 2018 Birthday event, which lasted from August 12th, 2018 to August 26th, 2018, players were able to celebrate Droobledore and Werter’s birthdays. Exclusive rewards were also available for purchase during the event.

Storyline

There were celebrations and festivities for Droobledore and Werter’s birthdays. The house-elves needed some help with preparing for the feast, and there were rumours of someone attempting to ruin the surprise party.

Location

The main event hub was the festively decorated Great Hall Courtyard. From there, players could explore the small build, which featured purple carpeting, a purple hot air balloon, as well as stalls and drapery coloured with purple accents. Uniquely, the quests had players traverse between Hogsworth, Hogsend, and Diagonal Lane, London.

Birthday Feast Fiasco

To start, players talked to Dawnie beside a table in the Hogsworth Kitchens. The house-elves were running out of time to create the most delicious feast the school had ever seen. She asked for assistance in obtaining the needed ingredients from various shops in Hogsend. Players then headed towards the associated shops for the following items: four eggs from Quality Cakes and Confectionary, one bag of sugar and one bag of flour from Honeysweets, one butter from Butterbeats Cafe, and three fish from Magical and Curious Fish. Afterwards, players returned to Dawnie and helped with preparing a special birthday cake. Upon making the cake, it was then baked and given to Dawnie for safekeeping until it was time for the big party.

The Secret Plot

To start, players talked to Trey in the Serpent Common Room. He had heard the rumour about a professor wanting to ruin the surprise party and had a clue as to who it may have been. Professor Colins, the Defence Against the Dark Arts professor, was the prime suspect since he seemed to be upset that the Headmaster was considering someone else for Deputy Headmaster. Players then headed towards Professor Colins’ office to find any clues. Penelope had been waiting for the Professor to return so she could ask about an assignment. She had not seen anything suspicious except for an odd piece of paper whose written words were magically re-arranged. A Seventh Year student named Greg in the Charms Classroom was able to fix it. However, he had gotten ill and requested a simple cold remedy first. Players then traversed to the Brewing Room in the Dungeons, brewed the Cold Remedy Potion, and returned to Greg, who pointed out that the note said something about stealing a cake. Professor Colins was then confronted in the Kitchens; however, he claimed that he did not know anything about the note and had been busy helping the house-elves. Back in the Defence Against the Dark Arts Classroom, Penelope claimed to have also seen Trey stop by. Revengeful Trey had targeted Professor Colins, as he had failed Trey in the last assignment. Players then had to defeat Trey in a magical duel. Upon notifying Professor Colins about the true culprit, he expressed his gratitude and rewarded the player.

Side Quests

There were no side quests during this event.

Activities

The only activity available for this event was a House points competition.

House Points Competition

Players traded in five presents to help their house win the House points competition. These presents were hidden all around the castle, and each could be redeemed upon finding them. The competition ended on August 25th, 2018, and the results were announced with Griffin securing first place.

Contests

There were no accompanying contests for the event.

Rewards & Collectables

There were a variety of different event items that players were able to obtain throughout the 2018 Birthday event. By talking to various NPCs in the Great Hall Courtyard, players could purchase a variety of cosmetics, collectables, food items, and more with Gold.
