Butterbrew Festival 2021

Overview

The Butterbrew Festival 2021 was the 2021 version of the annual festival held on Potterworld. The event featured five main quests and a multitude of activities that players were able to partake in. Exclusive rewards were also available to be purchased during this event. The Butterbrew Festival commenced on the 18th of September and lasted until the 9th of October.

Storyline

There was no overarching storyline for the event.

Location

The Butterbrew Festival could be accessed by speaking to the Kevin NPC which was located outside of the Great Hall. The main event location was the village of Hogsend. The village was decorated in celebration of the Butterbrew Festival, featuring banners and embellishments that were in the colours of orange and brown.

Quests

Five main quests could be completed by players during this event.

The Butterbrew Trials

The Bartender who served specialty butterbrew during the Butterbrew Festival had lost his memory due to a memory charm gone wrong. He requested players’ help in gathering ingredients which were safeguarded by a multitude of challenges and puzzles. The first task players had to complete was a trivia challenge. There were five trivia questions and players had to choose the correct answer by clicking on the corresponding barrel. Once players correctly chose the right answers, they were able to access the kitchen. Players had to find the key for the first door in the kitchen and then complete the second task where they made butterbrew. This task required players to get the necessary ingredients by completing an ice parkour, a maze and puzzle, and a dropper. Once players made the butterbrew, they had to get the butterbrew flowing by finding six spigots and matching them to their corresponding barrel. Once this step was completed, players could speak to the Bartender and finish the quest.

Daily Diviner Disasters

Players had to help the Daily Diviner Lead by interviewing Chef Antoine who was located in the Broomsticks Inn. Upon finishing interviewing the Chef, players spoke to three other sous chefs in the kitchen. The chefs required the players’ help in obtaining three items. To do this, players had to go to the Honeysweets basement and complete a parkour. At the end of this parkour, players could obtain these items. The quest was completed when players gave the items to the chefs and reported back to the Daily Diviner Lead.

Memory Mystery

Archie enlisted players’ help in uncovering the truth of what occurred during the 2020 Butterbrew celebration. Players had to traverse through Archie’s memories. To do so, they used the Memory Walker located upstairs in Archie’s house. They were then teleported into Archie’s memories where they met Maisie. There, Maisie asked players for help in completing chores around the house. These chores included watering three plants, finding three glasses and putting them in the sink, and sorting a bookshelf by using a matching puzzle game. After the chores were completed, players had to pick up butterscotch for Maisie. Players did this by talking to the merchant, who was located in the village centre, and finding the butterscotch in the building opposite. Once players completed this, they returned to Archie and completed the quest.

Obfuscated Consciousness

Archie revealed that a Memory Wipe Potion caused the residents of Hogsend to forget the events of the Butterbrew Festival in 2020. Archie also revealed that because of his actions, his girlfriend Millie had suffered severe memory loss. He requested the help of players in traversing through Millie’s memories in order to help fix their relationship. To do this, players had to first convince Millie to give them her memories. Players convinced Millie by selecting the right responses to her questions. When players had successfully obtained Millie’s memories, they used the Memory Walker and were teleported to Millie’s home. Around the home were objects that held special significance to Millie, and, once they were all found, players could go downstairs where they were teleported into a cutscene. The cutscene showed Millie’s parents and a chaotic courtroom at the Ministry of Magicians. Players then had to escape the Ministry of Magicians by avoiding the Dementares and Dark Followers. Once they escaped, players returned to Hogsend where they had to seek moral support by speaking to Maisie. To conclude the quest, players reported to Archie about what occurred in Millie’s memories.

The Butterbrew Heist

Officer Carly enlisted players’ help in stopping bandits from stealing a large shipment of butterbrew. The first task was to find the bandits' base by receiving information from the bandit member, Frank. Players then had to infiltrate the group of bandits by correctly answering the bandit leader’s questions. Then, players found evidence of the bandits' plan to sabotage the Butterbrew Festival and had to escape the base by completing a maze. Players completed the quest by rescuing the butterbrew cart driver and stopping Henry from stealing the butterbrew by defeating him.

Side Quests

There were two side quests that were able to be completed during this event. These quests could be repeated every 12 hours.

Order Up!

Players took orders from three customers that were located around the Hogsend pavilion. Players then had to find the correct ingredients for the customers’ orders located in the room next to the Hogsend pavilion. Once the ingredients were obtained, players could bake the food and then return to the customers.

Pie Baking Contest

The Broomsticks Inn was hosting a Pie Baking Contest that players were able to partake in. Players had to race across the Broomsticks Inn to obtain the ingredients for the pie and then head back to the kitchen to bake it. Once the pie was baked, players used the crafting table to combine the pie with a flavour mix, and then return to Chef Liam who would judge the pie. Players had to complete these steps within a time limit.

Activities

There were a multitude of minigames that players could participate in during this event. These minigames rewarded Event Tokens that could be used to purchase exclusive rewards. Event Tokens were also available to be obtained by playing games, which were accessed in /games.

There were no contests held during this event.

Exclusive rewards and collectables were available to be obtained during this event. They were available to be purchased from the Rewards NPC located in a market stall across from Honeysweets. Collectables were also awarded as quest rewards.
