Weekly Assignments
Overview
Weekly Assignments are regular opportunities for players to submit out-of-class assignments on the forums for AC. Unlike the classes taught on the server, players do not have to submit assignments in real-time or even be logged into the server. All players must do to submit a Weekly Assignment is to have an account on the forum that is linked to their player. Introduced in September of 2021, they have since been posted every Sunday under the News and Updates section. Players submit their Weekly Assignments through a form and are able to view their submissions on the Weekly Assignment forum.
Weekly Assignment Topics
Weekly Assignments allow Professors to showcase their lesson plans to those who may not be able to make their in-game classes. Every assignment is about one of the class subjects, along with more specific topics. In each Weekly Assignment, background information about the topic is given and a prompt relating to the background is provided. New Weekly Assignments are posted on Sundays, with submitted assignments being due the following Sunday at 12 AM PST.
Grading
The grading scale is similar to the one used in-game. Notably, however, the maximum AC that players can receive is 20 AC, as opposed to the 30 AC maximum in-game. Generally, the amount of AC received for Weekly Assignments will be lower than AC received for the same grade in-game. This is because Weekly Assignments are not time restrictive and players have the entire week to submit them.
In order to receive a grade and AC, players must abide by the rules stated at the end of every Weekly Assignment. 5 sentences is generally the required minimum for submitted assignments.
Additionally, every assignment must be the player’s own writing and cannot be plagiarised. Assignments must also follow all of the PotterworldMC rules. Not meeting any of these requirements will result in no AC and players are not able to redo assignments.
