Overview
The Magical Voyage Pride Event was held from 9th June to 14th July as a celebration of Pride Month 2024. During the event, players travelled to Iris Cove and Portovenere, which were returning locations from the 2022 and 2023 pride events respectively. This event also introduced the popular Cafe Cruise activity.
Storyline
There was no overarching storyline for this event; however, players were tasked with repairing an enchanted boat in Portovenere to help residents sail to Iris Cove and start the festivities.
Location
This event was split between two towns: Portovenere and Iris Cove.
After speaking to Kevin in the Transfiguration Courtyard at Hogsworth, players were transported to Portovenere, a coastal town set on the Italian Riviera. The town features many colourful houses embedded into the hill, along with a number of pride-themed boats in the harbour.
Once repaired, one boat in the harbour could be used to travel to Iris Cove. This island destination had six rows of rainbow houses and a pride-themed statue at the centre.
Quests
All Aboard!
In order to travel between Portovenere and Iris Cove, the boat in Portovenere harbour had to be repaired. Residents of Portovenere requested the help of players to find the missing parts of the boat and repair it in time to set sail and start the pride festivities.
Pride at Portovenere
In this returning quest from 2023, players were reunited with Mayor Guila, mayor of Portovenere. She explained that Portovenere was dealing with an influx of attendees to that year's pride festival, and the town was not used to the level of demand. Players helped Mayor Guila and her secretary, Jacopo Abate, create flyers to advertise the Pride festival and post them all around town. At Mimi, the town’s flower shop, players could gather flowers and utilise the flowers they had gathered to decorate a flower arch. Players then assisted other shops around Portovenere before returning to Jacopo Abate to help with music for the festival. This led to completing the quest for a reward of Pride Tokens, experience, and the Portovenere Firework Show collectable.
A Vivid Dream
In this returning quest from 2022, players had to help Sammy see a rainbow by collecting a colour from each section of houses. Players had to complete a series of tasks in order to receive one of the colours, including tasks such as parkour, puzzles, or trivia. After collecting all of the colours, an NPC named Nora suggested gathering flowers and creating a bouquet to give to Sammy. Once the bouquet was given to Sammy, players were able to watch the rainbow being created.
Side Quests
There were no side quests in the event.
Activities
This event saw the return of several activities from the 2022 and 2023 pride events, including the daily activities for the six multi-coloured streets of Iris Cove.
Canvas Coordinator
This competitive activity was brought back from previous years, during which players had to remember a sequence of coloured banners and select them in the correct order to earn Canvas Coins. After collecting 5,000 Canvas Coins, players could trade them for a Pride Paint Bucket, which served as a collectable beaded handbag.
Pride Flag Making
To celebrate the festival, Gaia had many orders for pride flags and needed help gathering the materials to make more. Players could find up to 12 wool colours for flags around Portovenere in the form of heads and craft a series of different pride flags to fulfil Gaia’s orders.
Bloom Blitz
In this activity, players were tasked with helping Caterina Bonetti with growing plants for her plant shop in Portovenere. Using the encyclopedia that Caterina provided, players had to establish which conditions each plant required before growing them correctly to earn Pride Tokens and experience.
Cafe Cruise
In this brand-new activity, players were tasked with helping Uncle Tony complete orders on his cafe boat. During the activity, customers would order an ice cream dish and a coffee. With a goal of serving five customers, orders had to be completed as fast as possible to earn a reward of Pride Tokens and experience. Over the duration of the event, players could also complete a series of achievements within this activity. Any players who had unlocked all of these achievements by the end of the event were rewarded with the Uncle Tony’s Ice Cream Scooper collectable.
Sub Rosa
Sub Rosa was the daily activity for the red street of Iris Cove. When players met Sunan, they learned she had feelings for someone named Camille, a girl from the purple side of the town. While she wanted to keep her feelings a secret, Sunan also wanted to send Camille gifts and letters. Players would help Sunan make a gift basket with a letter to anonymously deliver to Camille at the docks. The basket had cherries, apples, and flowers, along with one of three options of love letters that players could pick out.
Orange Depictions
Orange Depictions was the daily activity for the orange street of Iris Cove. Charlie was getting endless amounts of art commissions and struggling to keep up with them all. To help Charlie finish his commissions on time, players would complete one of his three commissions each day.
Lemons of Love
Lemons of Love was the daily activity for the yellow street of Iris Cove. In Lemons of Love, players needed to collect lemons for Lydia so that she could make her special lemon pie that her girlfriend liked. In each coloured section of the town, one lemon could be found and collected every 12 hours, making six lemons to be collected every half day. Players had to collect 36 lemons for Lydia. Once done, the player received a special collectable. It was a recipe for a lemon pie which could be made in real life. Players could also continue collecting and turning in lemons for Pride Tokens.
Whack-a-Frog
Whack-a-Frog was the daily activity for the green street of Iris Cove. During this game, players had to hit 30 frogs. Players could play as many times as they liked, and the game would add up the number of frogs hit each time. Players were then able to collect their daily reward and the quest could be played every 12 hours.
Beautiful in Blue
Beautiful in Blue was the daily activity for the blue street of Iris Cove. Players were given a riddle from the hat store owner who lived in a hat boutique. The riddle would lead to which hat on the wall the player should select. Once the player got it right, the NPC would wear that hat for the rest of the day.
Purple Pixies
Purple Pixies was the daily activity for the purple street of Iris Cove. Each day, players could get a riddle from an NPC in the library. The riddle would describe somewhere in Iris Cove. By going to the location the riddle alluded to, players would find a fairy and click on it to complete the quest. There were lots of different riddles, so they were rarely repeated.
Stylish Snapshot
In this activity, players were tasked with helping Celeste fulfil customer orders by remembering the pieces of clothing they were wearing. Players had 15 seconds to remember each customer’s dress before recalling the outfit to earn Pride Tokens and experience.
Minigames
Throughout the event, players could take part in some minigames to earn Pride Tokens.
