Hogsend's Butterbrew Festival 2024

Overview
The 2024 Butterbrew Festival event was hosted from 20th August to 21st September. Players explored the decorated village of Hogsend, played beloved carnival games, tested their wits in a themed escape room, and helped out Barry in a butterbrew-themed rendition of Potterworld’s 10th Anniversary 2024’s ‘Order Up!’ activity.
Storyline
There was no overarching storyline for the event.
Location
The event was held in the festively decorated town of Hogsend, which is to the south of Hogsworth. Notably, players were centralised around the north end of town near The Broomsticks Inn. Orange and white colours decorated the area, which featured themed stalls, barrels galore, and carnival stands.
Quests
There were two main quests this year, one of which introduced the event’s offerings. Both rewarded Event Tokens and a large amount of experience.
2024 Butterbrew Festival
The Kevin NPC was excited for the Butterbrew Festival, as he was able to wear his favourite overalls. Players were invited to Hogsend, where there were four returning carnival activities and one dinner-rush-oriented activity. After being given five Game Tickets each for carnival activities and attempting to play one, Barry from The Broomsticks Inn needed help serving customers. Introducing the ‘Order Up!’ activity, Barry trained the player on cooking, serving customers, and cleaning messes in the dining area using a broom. Food and drinks included: Pumpkin Pie, Cookies, Ice Cream, Salad, Spiced Apple Butterbrew, Salted Caramel Butterbrew, and Grapevine Glaze Butterbrew. Differing from last year’s, this activity had a Notepad, which showed needed orders quickly. Afterwards, Kevin wished the player fun with the festivities and mentioned to visit every day for free Game Tickets.
The Butterbrew Trials
Returning once more from Butterbrew Carnival 2022 and Appleby’s Butterbrew Festival 2023, the annual Butterbrew Trials took place in the cellars below the Broomsticks Inn. Heidi challenged players to put their thinking skills to the test in a brewery-themed escape room, which involved solving 10 puzzles between the Entrance Room, the Break Room, the Butterbrew Lab Room, the Treasury, and the Clock Room. These puzzles included finding hidden items, mathematics, decoding secret codes, and more. Completing puzzles would reward the player with coloured gems. The five different gems had to be placed in the correct order inside the Clock Room to claim the final prize, which was an exclusive Butterbrew Trials Trophy collectable.
Side Quests
There were no side quests for the event.
Activities
Rory, Casimir, Ella Zelly, and Willow returned from last year's festival to show off their repeatable carnival activities. Each activity needed its corresponding Game Ticket to start participating. Kevin granted four of each type of Game Ticket, which could be collected once a day after midnight Pacific Time. Game-specific Game Tickets were earned by playing their respective activity, and these also served to redeem exclusive rewards at their respective Rewards Shops. Only Balloon Darts, Dino Dig, Food Eating Competition, Buttership, and Barrel Racing activities rewarded these game-specific Game Tickets.
Order Up!
To start this group-oriented activity, a player initiated a dinner rush using the menu board in The Broomsticks Inn. For five minutes, players had to make food for five points, serve customers for three points, and clean for one point to collectively earn points as a group. The higher the group’s points, the higher the reward of Event Tokens and experience given. After the rush and a 30 minute wait, the activity could be started anew.
Balloon Darts
Casimir beckoned to players who looked like they had a nice throwing arm. In this activity, the player had 20 seconds to pop balloons in an arena using a Dart Launcher. With each popped balloon, Event Tokens or Balloon Darts Game Tickets were rewarded. For 15 Balloon Darts Game Tickets each, there were nine differently coloured, exclusive head plushies available for redemption: White, Red, Rainbow, Yellow, Green, Pink, Orange, Blue, and Black.
Dino Dig
Ella Zelly recognised an explorer’s spirit within players and offered them the opportunity to search for fossils. These unknown fossils were then processed in the refiner before being assembled into various plushies. Using materials such as Bone, Grey Fur, Yarn, Beady Eye, Fluff, Heart, Shell, Antenna, Slime, Snowball, Big Foot, and Frog Leg, players could craft and redeem the following exclusive head plushies: Koala Plushie, Snail Plushie, Yeti Plushie, Crab Plushie, and Pink Frog Plushie. The Yeti Plushie is reminiscent of the Yeti Bones historical artefact within the server's lore.
Food Eating Competition
Rory had a large selection of food prepared for consumption, and players could choose from four “modes” featuring various foods and drinks:
- ‘Sweet’ mode had the plates set up randomly at the start, and the player earned one Food Eating Game Ticket for each correct food, with one taken away if chosen incorrectly.
- ‘Savoury’ mode randomised plates after eating one, and the player earned or lost a Game Ticket for every right or wrong choice, with an extra Event Token gained for every two right selections.
- ‘Drinks’ mode had the player memorise the current labelled drinks for 10 seconds and then select the correct drink from unlabelled ones for 30 seconds; here, Game Tickets were doubled.
- ‘Fruits Vegetables’ mode had the player choose the called-out food for 15 seconds, with a mistake leading to a game over; here, Game Tickets and Event Tokens were doubled.
For 15 Food Eating Tickets each, the following exclusive heads were purchasable: Burger, Taco, Boiled Egg, Red Velvet Cake, Chocolate Strawberry, Canned Butterbrew, and Frosted Butterbrew.
Buttership
Willow challenged players to a butterbrew-themed game of Battleship. Placing seven Butterbrew on the 5x3 board, the player alternated attacks with Willow, each needing to ‘sink’ the other’s butterbrews. For 15 Buttership Game Tickets, the following exclusive heads were purchasable: Cyan TNT, Pink TNT, Yellow TNT, Orange TNT, Red TNT, Green TNT, Lime TNT, Purple TNT, White TNT, and Light Grey TNT.
Minigames
The Minigames Master NPC offered the following minigames, which rewarded Event Tokens depending on the difficulty. Additionally, Barrel Racing, a themed variant of the Sled Racing minigame, was available in /games for the event’s duration and rewarded Barrel Racing Tickets.

Daily Taskboard
Located in front of The Broomsticks Inn, this taskboard offered players the opportunity to complete eight daily challenges in exchange for additional rewards: Event Tokens and a small amount of experience. Each was collected once per day and reset at midnight Pacific Standard Time.

Contests
Barrel Racing Tournament
The Arena team hosted a Barrel Racing Tournament from 26th August to 2nd September 2024. Players placing within the top three of a round of Barrel Racing earned points. At the tournament’s conclusion, the top five players received rewards such as a temporary prefix, a temporary cosmetic hat, a store gift card, Gold, cosmetic wand particles, and Arena Tokens. Winners were announced on 26th September.
Rewards & Collectables
The table below lists all event rewards and collectables obtainable through this Anniversary event. Most could be purchased with Event Tokens and specific Game Tickets. The exception was the Daily Diviner Special Edition book, which could be bought for 50 Gold from the Daily Diviner News Seller NPC.
Additionally, outside of the Dino Dig activity, the Exclusives NPC sold a T-Rex Plushie for Dino Dig Game Tickets. Another collectable, the Butterbrew Trials Trophy, could be redeemed at the Exclusives NPC after completing The Butterbrew Trials quest. The Butterbrew Gear Lootbag featured the same Trinket gear items as the previous year.

Carnival Games Rewards
The table below lists the collectables that were obtainable from the specific carnival games; Casimir’s Balloon Darts offered differently coloured plushie rewards, Ella’s Dino Dig featured creature plushies, Rory’s Food Eating Competition provided food-themed rewards, and Willow’s Buttership awarded TNT. In order to get these, players purchased them with Game Tickets, which were earned by playing the corresponding game.
